Building A Legacy Remembering Charlie Kirk 9/21/25

Just a few weeks ago, before Charlie was murdered, I remember thinking of how smart Charlie was, and I was really looking forward to going to more Turning Point events and becoming more active now that I’ve been living in Phoenix during the weekdays. When I heard the news as I was driving home on September 10th, I couldn’t believe it, I thought I heard wrong, the news was talking about Charlie in the past tense. Who could be so heartless? I hadn’t been that sad since my parents died. It didn’t take me long to realize this was demonic. I thought of Jesus saying in scripture that some of us would suffer because of him, and that was Charlie, martyred for his beliefs.

Vigil for Charlie

I went to the vigil for Charlie at ASU, and it was sad, but a good way to pray for his soul as a group. COO of Turning Point U.S.A., Tyler Bowyer, shared with us the story of how it all began. It started when Charlie was just 18, making his first on-campus outreach to students at ASU, with the sign behind him reading, “Big Government Sucks.” One thing I’ll never forget from standing in line for Turning Point events is that people would often say, “Isn’t it amazing that he did what he did, starting at age 18?” That’s not normal; that was brilliance and very inspiring. Later on, Erika Kirk would address everyone and let us know she’d start where Charlie left off and would be the new CEO.

If it weren’t for Charlie and Tyler, college campuses would still be run over by leftist socialists and communists.

On the way home on Friday, I stopped at Turning Point U.S.A. Trumpinator and I paid respects to Charlie, leaving a card for those he loved, including his family and the T.P. U.S.A. family. I filmed it, but I just kept crying and had to put my camera down to get a Kleenex. If you’ve seen Charlie at several events, you feel like you know him, even though you have never met him. So it hit me harder. He is a hero to many people, including myself.

This morning, like many patriots, I attended the memorial service.

Charlie Kirk was God’s gift to us. He did so much good to chase ballots in the last election, and he spoke life into people who had been deceived by those who hate God, hate families, hate freedom, and lack morals. He did so much in his short 31 years. Amazing what he did. Prayers for Charlie’s family and all those who were his closest friends and colleagues at Turning Point U.S.A.

I got right through the security check, and they said Sorry, the fire marshal just said that’s it and they told me to turn around. Can you imagine getting your hopes up like that? I ended up in the overflow at Desert Diamond Arena across the street, where I last saw Charlie speak last October with RFK Jr., and Tucker Carlson interviewing Trump.

At least I got to watch it on the Jumbotron with some good, God-loving people who befriended me in line. It was a shame that Christians were cutting in front of us, cutting into our line; those of us who followed the rules got turned away at the last minute, but it was nice that President Trump acknowledged us.
When I arrived, they had left some parking lots unused, so I parked my car in an overflow lot. Even though I registered for the event with Turning Point, it didn’t matter; they changed it so anyone in the public could go. Oh well. I feel blessed to have seen Charlie several times at his events while he was alive. I always found him to be incredibly smart, and his parents did a great job raising him.

The best part was when Erika Kirk followed what Jesus taught us, to forgive those who trespass against us. Here is a clip of that:

Also, some good will come out of bad situations. The whole crowd cheered when they saw Elon and President Trump sitting together again. Life is too short, I’m glad to see them talking again. For Charlie’s sake, he would be pleased they are talking again. Let’s hope for the best.
